Spyros Zoupanos (EPFL, THEOS) gives a presentation on 'Overview of some of the latest AiiDA developments' and Senja Barthel (EPFL, LSMO) on 'Zeolites, triply periodic minimal surfaces, tilings, and carbon'. Antimo Marrazzo (EPFL, THEOS) gives a presentation on 'Prediction of a large-gap and switchable Kane-Mele quantum spin Hall insulator' and Venkat Kapil (EPFL, COSMO) on 'Accurate molecular dynamics and nuclear quantum effects at low cost using multiple time steps in real and imaginary time'. Welcome to the eleventh MARVEL Junior Seminar on Thursday December 7, 2017, 12:15 pm, EPFL, room MED 0 1418. Robert Baldock (EPFL, THEOS) gives a presentation on 'Calculating Multicomponent Phase Diagrams with Nested Sampling' and Alexander Hampel (ETHZ) on 'Describing the combined structural and metal-insulator transition in rare-earth nickelates with ab-initio (DFT+U and DFT+DMFT) methods'. The seminar is facilitated by Gloria Capano.

The deadline for entries has been extended to 31 December 2017. Organized this semester by ACCES, the platform for Application-Centered Computational Engineering Science, this visualization contest is open to all the students and postdocs at EPFL, alone or in groups up to four people and is part a broader effort at EPFL to embed Computational Thinking into the education of scientists and engineers.
