Outreach

In addition to excellent and collaborative research, the NCCRs are also asked to implement measures in additional strategic areas. These are education and training of the next generation of scientists, equal opportunities, open science, knowledge and technology transfer, and science communication and outreach.

Multiples initiatives and activities were developed and implemented by MARVEL during its 12 years of existence. This was a great opportunity to invent and try various actions. Some will stay as the NCCR's legacy.

At the institutional level, we have a distributed national legacy model, with EPFL remaining the main academic home; PSI providing the explicit long-term laboratory/divisional framework; Empa providing complementary experimental/computational embedding; CSCS remaining the HPC and platform backbone.
