Welcome to the 22nd MARVEL Junior Seminar on Thursday February 14, 2019, 12:15 pm, EPFL, room MED 0 1418. Michele Simoncelli (EPFL, THEOS) and Michele Pizzochero (EPFL, C3MP) will present their research. The seminar is chaired by Francesco Maresca.

Research data is a precious good. Where is the balance between protecting it and opening it? How can you manage the way it is reused by others? In this Noon Talk, the topic of data licensing will be presented from various points of view.  After a brief introduction on current practices by the Library, three speakers will share their experience and point of view about research data licensing.

From February 11th to 15th, the EPFL Library is hosting activities in the context of the Love Data Week 2019. This international event aims to share awareness about research data management among researchers. On this occasion, EPFL Library offers you several activities and events online and the Rolex Learning Center.

The Open Science Days are periodically organized by the Max Planck Digital Library to touch on various aspects of the global movement towards a more open and transparent approach to science. The program will touch on Open Access, Open Research Data, Linked Open Data, Open Review, Open Source, Citizen Science and Open Education. MARVEL's Giovanni Pizzi will be speaking on "Open Science Platform for Materials Science: AiiDA and the Materials Cloud ." 

On January 24, 25, 28 and 30, MARVEL is holding a mini-series of four seminars covering key topics ranging from machine learning to wavefunction methods, as well as advanced DFT and metals.
